Financial support
Donating to Stichting Mago is easy — via a direct bank transfer or the donate button on our website. You can choose a one-time donation or set up a regular contribution. Your donation goes directly to our projects in Tanzania, including our food programme, the vocational school and dental care. You will always receive a confirmation once your donation is received.
Periodic gifting means committing to a fixed annual donation for at least five years. The major advantage is that the full amount is tax-deductible from your taxable income, without a threshold or maximum. This makes periodic gifting beneficial both for you and for us. The commitment is recorded in a deed or agreement. Please contact us if you would like to know more.
Yes, donations to Stichting Mago are tax-deductible. Stichting Mago is recognised by the Dutch Tax Authority as an ANBI (Public Benefit Organisation). This means your donations may be deducted from your taxable income under certain conditions. For one-off gifts, a threshold of 1% of your income applies. For periodic gifts of at least five years, the full amount is deductible — with no threshold or maximum.
School
The Mago Polytechnic School is open to young people in Tanzania who have no access to regular secondary education after primary school — often due to cost or distance. The school focuses on youth from the Mago area who want to follow a practical vocational programme. There is no academic selection: the school specifically aims to reach young people who would otherwise be excluded from education entirely.
The length of a programme at the Mago Polytechnic School varies by field, but typically lasts one to two years. During this time, students learn not only the practical skills of their trade but also receive personal development support and health education, including HIV/AIDS awareness. After completing the programme, students are better equipped to support themselves financially.
You can support a student by making a financial contribution through our website. Donations go towards tuition fees, learning materials and mentoring for students who would otherwise have no access to education. Contact us for more information about personal sponsorship.

The program equips students with hands-on skills to support themselves financially. Alongside the vocational curriculum, the school also provides health education, including HIV/AIDS prevention.
Food Programme
The Mago food program provides a daily hot meal to children at four primary schools in the Mago area. Many of these children arrive at school without having eaten, so the program directly improves their concentration and academic performance.
The daily meal consists of locally grown staple products that provide essential nutrients for growing children. By sourcing local ingredients, the program also supports the local agricultural economy in the Mago region.

By sourcing food locally, the programme also supports local farmers and keeps money within the community.
Future for young teeth
You can support the Future for Young Teeth programme by making a targeted donation through our website. When donating, indicate that you wish to support the dental programme so your contribution can be directed specifically. Your gift helps purchase dental supplies, fund treatments and deliver oral hygiene education to children in the Mago region. Every contribution, however small, makes a difference.

Through this programme, Stichting Mago provides oral hygiene education and makes dental treatment available to people who would otherwise have no access to this care. The programme is part of the broader healthcare provision of Mago Care.
Guesthouse
The Mago Guesthouse also serves as a hotel training school for students of the Mago Polytechnic School. Students do internships at the guesthouse, gaining practical experience in hospitality. At the same time, the revenue from the guesthouse helps fund the school and other Stichting Mago programmes. It is a clear example of how education and enterprise can reinforce each other.
